  This is a consistent Biblical church. The worship is great. The preaching is biblical and engages the text of Scripture directly, even to the original languages. Not only is there an analysis of the text, but application of the verses as well. The fellowship is amazing. Proud to call it my home church.

  What I love the most about Vanguard Bible Church is the weekly message. Pastor Cary teaches from the Bible and is true to the Word. He also provides great background knowledge that helps me understand more about this time in history, the culture, and the customs. This deepens my understanding of the Word and how I can apply it to my life.

  I love this family, because that is what you have and experience at Vanguard. People welcome you from the parking lot all the way to your seat. Pastor Cary is a teaching pastor that just loves the Word and loves to dig into the good and the ugly, but always with passion for the application in daily life. Not just Sunday. It is a church in it's infancy, but on a mission to make sure we are disciples that spread Gods Word in Bakersfielsd, in Kern County, and around this broken world. Come join us!

  Vanguard is a vibrant new church in Bakersfield, pastored by Cary Nack. From the first moment I heard Pastor Cary preach, I knew he was different from everyone I had experienced in 25 years of attending church.
  Pastor Cary’s sermons are full of content, historical context, present-day analogies, humor, and most importantly, life application.
  If you are looking for a Bible based church that studies God’s Word, with no apologies, with reverence, and a desire to grow your spiritual walk, then Vanguard should be at the forefront of your Sunday mornings.
