  • The best and most active and fully alive church i have ever been to. If you are looking for a great church to attend this one is great and has something going on 7 days week. Most awesome college and kids groups. I regularly attend Upper Room located at the Pete's coffee shop across the street. YUMMM!!!!This church has the warmest welcoming i have ever had....after being rejected my whole life and finding a place that i can feel at home and accepted is the best. If you are feeling down and need some friends,we accept you, come to this church because """WE LOVE YOU NO MATTER WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN OR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!!"""""!(words of Pastor Joseph)The people are so kind here. Very loving

  • This church is filled with Gods Grace and the Holy Spirit moving in a tremendous way. They offer a number of service times and classes to cater to whatever need is most convenient for you and their staff are wonderful. I've never seen such a dedicated church with an abundance of love and compassion for the word, and communicating the bible in a way that displays the knowledge and yet relates it to our lives in a modern day sense. Pastor Wendell is an Amazing Pastor and man of God. They also have an extension of their church called Upper Room (Which Recently Moved Locations) that caters to Young Adults (or anybody wanting to go) and Pastor Joseph mentored by Pastor Wendell gives real messages that help deepen and strengthen your relationship with Jesus.(also a side note, I feel as if everyone needs to know Pastor Joseph because he’s Awesome.) But Upper Room plays great Worship music and is located off F st. and the Golden State Hwy (old Montgomery Ward Building) 3201 F St.Bakersfield, CA, 93301 *********7pm on Sundays Every Sunday********** If you have that need and want for companionship with Jesus I would definitely suggest either of these places They are mightily suited to prepare you for that next step in coming closer to our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • I love this church! The pastor's and staff are full of faith and wonderful people. When I go here I am inspired to go deeper in my relationship with God. There are many good churches in town and a person must find the one that suits them best but this church should be on everyone's list to try out at least once. If you have kids, Canyon has an amazing kids program and also a special wing devoted to 'special needs children'. What a blessing to have found such a great church like Canyon Hills....

I cannot judge the hearts of those who serve at Canyon Hills. However, I will share some pertinent information for those who intend to attend this church. I visited Canyon Hills and signed up to receive information about groups, bible studies, and etc. Six month later I received no information or contract in regards to my inquiry that I filed at 7001 Auburn Campus. I have received recently, a letter from the Senior Pastor requesting a donation to remodel the lobby, and many parts of the church. When I surveyed the church structure during my visit I found it in impeccable condition, and yet now there is a thrust to renovate it? It looks already recently renovated.

I am Vice President of Christian Humanitarian organization, 2) a Christian certified child counselor, and 3) a international crisis response responder. I could have helped in many areas of the church, but my services are now no longer rendered. I have attended the extension and autonomous church of Canyon Hills, Upper Room, and found a similar disposition; the answer seems to be if you are not Assemblies of God you are treated with suspicion, and you can share binging involved in saving thousands of souls, and if it wasn't an AOG (Assemblies of God) outreach you have the conversation redirected to AOG, and are told to attend the Mission 111 (or 101) at the Canyon Hills Church College known as Sum.

To sum up this church on the summit, I asked for info about groups and gave all my contact info, made it clear I wanted to lead a group and am qualified, but I received no contact for six months, but when the church needs redundant and superfluous renovations (and upgrades) I am suddenly contacted via mail with a donation envelope and letter urging me to give money (see 2 Corinthians 9:7, 2 Corinthians 8:12 in the Holy Bible to know what the Apostle Paul says about giving).

So the question stands, which God do you think this church serves?

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." (Jesus Christ, Matthew 6:24).
